New York City Wedding at the abc kitchen + abcv + Cocina | Rachael & Zach

Rachael and Zach’s wedding weekend in New York City was a blend of modern design, tradition, and intentional celebration. Centered around family and their shared love of food, the weekend unfolded across some of Soho’s most iconic spaces - all documented on mostly 35mm and 120mm film.

The weekend began with a fun welcome party at Jimmy’s Soho. On the wedding morning, Rachael and Zach got ready at ModernHaus Soho, and after a quick first look, we took some portraits around Soho. Rachael wore a stunning Sarah Seven gown with a neck scarf, which was chic and timeless.

Huge food lovers, Rachael and Zach chose abc kitchen and abcV, part of the Jean-Georges restaurant group, as the heart of their celebration. The design throughout the spaces felt contemporary and organic, and the overall mood was a refined mix of whimsical, modern, and fun. For the ceremony, Ashn Earth created a modern chuppah with an organic, architectural feel. Willow branches climbed barely-there posts, softened by simple white fabric and florals that spilled into the aisle. It was a beautiful example of how tradition can feel fresh and intentional in a modern NYC setting.

Cocktail hour included an abcV Signature Station styled with sculptural arrangements of seasonal fruits and vegetables — a nod to both artistry and sustainability. Tables were decorated with ikebana-style florals in ceramic vessels, paired with votive candles. Dinner tables were styled with off-white ceramic china, Chelsea flatware, wishbone chairs with cushions, and custom menus. Floral design varied intentionally wildflowers and sculptural botanicals for long tables and modern ikebana centerpieces for round tables. In abc kitchen, a large sunflower arrangement anchored the bar, surrounded by candles. Votives lined the live-edge bar seating, creating warmth and intimacy within the modern space.

The celebration continued at abc cocina, where a large concrete table became a styled dessert display. An extra-long, single-tier wedding cake sat at the center, surrounded by petit fours and small desserts for guests to enjoy freely.

Benor and Beik did an incredible job designing, planning to bring Rachael’s vision together. This weekend is proof that the most impactful celebrations are rooted in intention, connection, and experience. One of the many reasons why I loved photographing this wedding in New York City.
